About Our Studio and approach
Bring ideas to life
We are a film & theatre studio focused on memorable stories, psychological drama and immersive experiences. We don’t do generic content – we build worlds, performances and visual narratives that stay with the audience long after the lights go up.
About us
We are O&K Production — an independent creative duo born in Russia and Romania, shaped by Europe, and now creating in New York. Our artistic roots go deep: we were raised on the poetic silence of Andrei Tarkovsky, the emotional precision of Ingmar Bergman, and the visual boldness of Federico Fellini. From early on, we were drawn to directors who didn’t just tell stories — they sculpted time, space, and memory.

Our education and artistic upbringing were steeped in the discipline of Russian theatre, the introspection of European cinema, and the raw expressiveness of filmmakers like Krzysztof Kieślowski, Jean-Luc Godard, and Lars von Trier. As we grew, our creative language evolved to also embrace the dynamic storytelling of Martin Scorsese, the humanism of Richard Linklater, and the visual mastery of Terrence Malick and David Fincher.

This collision of East and West shaped our approach: deeply emotional, visually intentional, and narratively daring. We are not interested in surface — we strive to reach the psychological core of a scene, a character, a moment. Whether through film, theatre, or interdisciplinary work, our goal is to create experiences that linger, challenge, and connect.

As a husband-and-wife team, we work through trust, contradiction, dialogue, and shared obsession. Every story we tell is handcrafted — not for the algorithm, but for the audience. For those who want to feel, to see beauty in tension, and to remember what it means to be human.

O&K Production is where Russian depth, European intellect, and American momentum meet — in every frame, every word, and every silence.

Our journey

Our creative path is woven from many worlds — theatre, film, literature, and journalism. And the journey is rooted in a deep artistic lineage that stretches across continents. Though we began our creative careers in Moscow and Romania — studying at top theatrical universities and performing in acclaimed film and stage productions — our story didn’t start or end there.

With family roots in Romania, where our great-grandparents lived, we’ve always carried a deep connection to Central and Eastern European culture. We’ve studied and worked in Romania, walked the streets our ancestors once stepped, and carried that history into our craft.

Driven by curiosity and the desire to grow, we’ve lived and studied across Europe — from the poetic schools of France to immersive programs in Romania and across the United States. Each country left its mark: the elegance of French theatre, the soul of Romanian storytelling, the structure and ambition of American cinema.

We wrote books, launched our first productions in Russia, played dozens of roles on stage and screen, and built a creative dialogue with artists across Europe.

Now based in New York City, we blend Russian theatrical discipline, European emotional depth, and American momentum to create stories that transcend borders. Every scene we build, every word we write, and every moment we perform is a reflection of that journey — and of the cultures, histories, and voices that shaped us.

Our Creative Process
Every project begins with a spark — a question, a memory, a feeling. From there, we sculpt the story. Whether for film or stage, we dive into concept and structure, shaping scripts that carry both weight and breath.

Casting is a collaboration of instinct and vision. We build teams not just for skill, but for chemistry — for that shared pulse that makes creation intimate.

In cinema, we storyboard with light and silence in mind, choreographing camera and character in equal measure. On stage, we explore rhythm, presence, and the invisible thread between actor and audience.

We rehearse, refine, reimagine. We work in layers — from raw performance to final frame or curtain rise. Post-production is where everything fuses: image, sound, emotion. In theatre, it’s the heartbeat of a live space in motion.

What begins as a quiet idea becomes a living world. And in that world, we invite others not just to watch — but to feel, to remember, and to return.
